Our Rights, Our Lives, Our Future (O3) Project

  • Funded By: Haella Foundation

Prime Initiatives implemented the O3 Project in the Banda and Jaman North Districts of the Bono Region, Ghana. The project aimed to empower young people, especially young girls and women, to assert their rights and actively participate in society.

A key focus of the project was educating women and young people about their rights to sexual and reproductive health and their involvement in decision-making processes that affect their lives. By addressing these critical issues, the project helped create awareness and encouraged individuals to take control of their futures.

Beyond education, the O3 Project provided psychosocial support to victims of sexual and gender-based violence. This support was essential in helping survivors rebuild their confidence and regain their place in the community.

To ensure sustainable impact, the project engaged traditional and religious leaders, teachers, and community influencers in discussions about the importance of protecting the rights of young people and fostering equal opportunities for women. Collaboration with local women’s groups further strengthened advocacy efforts.

The O3 Project was made possible through funding from Haella Stichting, which supported its implementation and impact in the target communities.
